“Flora”
From Latin name, Flora is a Roman Goddess of Plants, Flowers and Fertility.
A series of intimate portraits of plant life.
Images presented at this exhibit are selections from a series that I started in the mid 2023. I began by gathering discarded flowers, Tulips, Calla Lilies, Gladiolas and other flowers, bringing them to my studio and photographing them against a black background, much the same way as I would do a human portraiture. After awhile I started noticing other plant-life during my walks, so I started carrying pruning shears and cutting little pieces and photographing them.
This series was exhibited at MBS Gallery on S. Alamo as part of the Contemporary Art Month, from March to May 2024.
